VIRACLE by a Landslide!

Above, a print ad shot in Tudor City in 1956 to promote Viracle, a lightweight fabric created by DuPont that was a blend of polyester and wool.

The ad satirizes the stock candidate-in-a-convertible photo, and was taken from No. 45's sidewalk looking west to The Cloister and The Manor in the background. Quite the elaborate production, the photo session included 42 extras and a $50,000 Chrysler convertible.
