The 'then' pictures were photographed by Steve Stempel in 1988 to record the state of the parks that the newly formed Tudor City Greens was about to inherit. The 'now' photos were made 37 years later.

ReplyDeleteI remember one cold winter night when, Helmsley still owned the parks, it had been sleeting and turned to snow. I went out to the south park and saw there was a beautiful layer of ice. So I doned my ice skates and skated around the park!
