The YULE LOG, 1935

The burning of the yule log is a custom dating back to medieval times, and thus a natural in Tudor City given the complex's medieval feel. The photo above shows the ceremony being performed in the third park on December 25, 1935. Below, a close-up of the participants -- two yule-log burners dressed as elves with a heavenly choir behind them.
